About this listen

I am a Registered Homeopath and Lactation Consultant who loves Jesus and believes in the power of prayer in healing and restoration. God designed our bodies to heal themselves. We interfere with the body’s abilities by introducing medications which stop the action our bodies were made to do - heal! Homeopathy comes in and stimulates the immune system to help the body remember how to heal itself. ALL people are welcomed here, no matter your beliefs! I discuss mostly homeopathy here, but also I bring an encouraging word from the Lord and touch on the topics of parenting, homeschooling, marriage, and nutrition. Welcome to my world! It’s a beautiful, healthy life!

  • Facing Discomfort: The Necessary Path to Healing
    Jun 23 2025

Send a text to Melissa and she’ll answer it on the next episode.

Facing uncomfortable symptoms is rarely enjoyable, but what if your discomfort is actually signaling positive change? This eye-opening conversation explores the fascinating parallel between how we approach physical discomfort in homeopathic healing and spiritual discomfort in our personal growth.

We've all experienced that moment of wanting to push away uncomfortable feelings or symptoms. Yet as we unpack in this episode, those very sensations we're eager to suppress often represent necessary healing in progress. Whether it's a fever breaking, emotions finally being processed after years of suppression, or hidden spiritual issues coming to light, discomfort frequently signals that important work is happening beneath the surface.

The Western approach to medicine has trained many of us to immediately squash any symptom the moment it appears. Similarly, in our spiritual lives, we may instinctively avoid confronting uncomfortable truths about ourselves. But as we discover, this avoidance strategy ultimately backfires—what we resist doesn't disappear but merely goes underground, often returning later with even greater intensity. "I don't think we ever avoid it," we reflect during the conversation. "It just comes back later, usually worse."

Most profoundly, this episode challenges the very notion that "healthy" means "symptom-free." Just as homeopathic healing focuses on strengthening the body's overall system rather than simply eliminating symptoms, spiritual growth requires working through discomfort rather than around it. We share practical examples from both realms, from handling physical illness to navigating emotional healing and relationship conflicts. Listen in as we explore why counting the reward rather than the cost helps us persevere through necessary discomfort on the path to genuine healing.

  • Lycopodium: The Power Player of Homeopathy
    Jun 9 2025

Send a text to Melissa and she’ll answer it on the next episode.

Dive deep into the fascinating world of Lycopodium, one of homeopathy's most versatile and frequently prescribed remedies. Melissa and Bri explore this powerful polycrest that addresses everything from stubborn digestive issues to complex psychological patterns.

The hallmark of Lycopodium is its remarkable dual nature. People needing this remedy often display contradictory traits – appearing confident while harboring deep insecurity, wanting to be alone yet fearing solitude, feeling full after eating very little yet still experiencing hunger. This remedy shines particularly bright when addressing right-sided symptoms, liver complaints, and that uncomfortable bloated feeling that persists despite dietary changes.

Beyond the physical, Lycopodium reveals a distinctive personality profile. These individuals often mask insecurity with bravado, putting others down to feel better about themselves. They experience crippling anticipatory anxiety, asking endless questions before new situations. They're the "big fish in small pond" types who may decline promotions to avoid additional responsibility. Their energy typically crashes between 4-8 PM, and they find relief from warm drinks and foods.

What makes Lycopodium truly special is its versatility. From addressing dyslexia in children whose confidence has suffered to helping with the distinctive "pompflex" eczema (those itchy fluid-filled bubbles on fingers), this remedy has earned its top-tier status. It works wonders for those peculiar tickly coughs, assists with kidney and liver function, and even helps those who wake feeling like they haven't slept at all.

Whether you're new to homeopathy or a seasoned practitioner, understanding Lycopodium enriches your healing toolkit. Listen now to discover if this remedy might be the missing piece in addressing your health challenges, both physical and emotional.

  • Unraveling Constitutional Prescribing in Homeopathy
    May 26 2025

Send a text to Melissa and she’ll answer it on the next episode.

Dive into the fascinating world of constitutional prescribing, a concept that represents perhaps the most misunderstood territory in homeopathy. As practitioners and patients alike grapple with identifying "constitutional remedies," this episode clarifies the crucial distinction between what's truly constitutional versus what's fundamental or pathological.

Your constitution represents your genetic blueprint—the unchangeable aspects of your physical structure, metabolism, and baseline tendencies. Drawing from the teachings of Dr. Francisco Xavier Eizayaga (1923-2001), we explore how your constitutional type (primarily Calc Carb, Sulfur, Silica, or Phosphorus) differs fundamentally from the layers of acquired conditions that build throughout life.

Melissa and Bri untangle the confusion between classical homeopathic approaches, where "constitutional" often means whatever remedy matches your current symptoms, versus the more precise definition where constitutional remedies strengthen your healthy baseline state. This distinction changes everything about treatment priorities—we must clear pathologies and fundamental issues before supporting the constitution.

Physical characteristics provide important clues, from the short, square physique of Calc Carb types to the tall, thin frame of Phosphorus constitutions. Yet these indicators represent just part of a comprehensive assessment that includes genetic tendencies, basic temperament, and inherent strengths and weaknesses.

Whether you're new to homeopathy or an experienced practitioner, understanding constitutional prescribing transforms how you approach treatment. It shifts the focus from constantly changing remedies to recognizing the unchangeable foundation while clearing acquired layers. By strengthening your constitutional vitality, you create resilience against the energy-draining stressors of modern life.

Want to explore this fascinating topic in greater depth? Join us for our upcoming live course on constitutional prescribing, where we'll delve into detailed remedy profiles, potency selection, dosing strategies, and practical case taking approaches.
