    Sep 23 2025

Greetings from the Lake of the Ozarks and the School of the Osage! My name is Laura Hayes and you are listening to the Heritage Little Authors Podcast.

As we settle into the new school year, our students are busy getting comfortable with the craft of writing. Each grade level has unique goals this first quarter that build the foundation for lifelong writing skills. Our kindergarteners are mastering the basics—writing their first names and understanding what makes a sentence. First graders are building their writing stamina and learning to capture their ideas on paper, while our second graders are discovering the importance of following a structured writing process.

Here in the library, our first and second grade students are beginning an exciting journey to become master storytellers, learning to craft tales that captivate with rich details and engaging narratives.

Today, we're thrilled to share something truly special. Mrs. Anderson's first grade class recently visited the library to share their latest writing pieces. Enjoy!
