    Dr. Friede Kiernan of Healthy Families Chiropractic discusses walking as a powerful, often overlooked tool for health. Walking requires complex, full-body coordination of balance, posture, muscles, and joints. She explains that regular walking supports mental wellbeing by improving memory, focus, mood, emotional balance, and stress regulation through steady rhythmic input that helps the nervous system feel calm and safe, which can even help sleep and digestion. Dr. Friede also explains that walking is accessible, low impact, and suitable for most fitness levels; research suggests that just 30 minutes of brisk walking four to five times per week can unlock extraordinary benefits…but starting slowly and focusing on consistency is the best way to build your walking routine.
