About this listen

Good morning. Hawaii. I'm Aaron Jolly. Step outside right now and you're greeted by 74 degrees and clear skies. The kind of gentle morning that makes you remember why you live here. But don't get too comfortable — that easterly breeze is already stirring. And it's about to flex a little muscle. In the next 24 hours. Oahu climbs to 81 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. There's a slight chance of an isolated shower sneaking through, mainly along those windward slopes. Tonight settles to 72 under partly cloudy skies. The Big Island starts cooler at 67 degrees. Scattered showers are likely early this morning, especially around 5 A.M. When rain chances peak. The day clears to mostly sunny with a high of 78. Another round of showers moves through tonight with a low of 66. Maui wins the warmth contest today. 83 degrees under mostly sunny skies. But here's the catch — that easterly wind gets gusty, reaching 29 miles an hour by late morning. Hold onto your hats. Tonight's full moon rises around sunset. If those clouds cooperate, it'll be a beautiful sight. Friday keeps the trade wind pattern rolling. Oahu and Maui both hit 81 to 83 degrees with more clouds building in. Scattered showers become more widespread, especially by afternoon. The weekend looks drier and pleasant with mostly sunny skies both days. Highs hold in the low 80s. But here's what's worth watching. A shift arrives early next week. Southerly winds pull deep tropical moisture northward. By Tuesday and Wednesday, rain chances jump significantly. Could be a wetter pattern settling in for midweek.
