Prof. Dr. med. Giovanni Maio, M.A. phil. Abgeschlossene Studien der Philosophie und Medizin, Habilitation für Ethik in der Medizin. Seit 2005 Universitätsprofessur für Bioethik/Medizinethik an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg. Dr. Maio ist Direktor eines eigenen Instituts für Ethik in der Medizin und berät in Deutschland die Bundesärztekammer, die Bundesregierung und die Bischofskonferenz. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Bücher zu ethischen Fragen in der Medizin, etwa „Mittelpunkt Mensch“, „Werte für die Medizin“, „Den kranken Menschen verstehen“, „Ethik der Verletzlichkeit“ und viele mehr.
