About this listen

In the spinetingling episode of The Afterlife, we are examining one of our local haunted ghost stories that everyone knows and has a story about. We are looking into the paranormal encounters that have happened out at the Bartonville Asylum in Bartonville Illinois. It was torn down a few years ago, but we have stories from our experiences, and even the documented account from Dr. Zeller himself. While he was the attending doctor and overseeing the operations of the hospital, he had to form a "funeral corps" to help bury the patients that no one wanted to claim and had nowhere else to go. There was a patient that took it upon himself to grieve for those that had died, until his death. Zeller presided over his funeral as well, and to the some 400 people in attendance they all witnessed his apparition wailing like he never had before. This was documented by Zeller and can be found in Peoria's Haunted Memories written by Stephanie E. McCarthy. But we also recant some of our personal experiences out there as well. So be prepared for stories that just may chill you to the bone!
