So, I’m a firm believer that stories enhance and make life that much more valuable and rich. I also deeply believe that as we share our stories, amplify our voices and the voices of others, especially of those that don’t traditionally get heard, the closer we get to healing ourselves and our planet. But this podcast is not about healing, even though on some level, every action we take, or relationship we enter, and goal we have, is linked to some trauma we need to heal and in turn become the person we need to become. And stories are incredibly healing in large part due to the fact that as human beings we connect through stories. Connection is an incredible vehicle for healing and podcasting, bringing it back around, is one of the greatest modern day mediums on this planet for sharing stories and facilitating connection. Therefore, I see it as a tool, a vehicle for creating immense impact and healing. So podcasting is the medium of choice for this content for this core reason. At the young age of about 8 or 9, during a particularly challenging time of my life, I remember I started journaling. Getting thoughts from my head onto paper was a form of therapy and created immense relief as things spiraled out of control around me. Then at the age of 12 the devastating loss of my mother changed the trajectory of my life forever. Suddenly I was not only taking care of myself, I was put in charge of taking care of the entire household. I went from child to matriarch very quickly. I mourned not just the loss of my mother, but also of my childhood. It was during my time alone as I was homeschooled and everyone else was at school or at work, that I started to delve into books and tv shows that provided me with the resources and and tools to live a happier and more fulfilled life, one where I could dream and create a future that I wanted to create. Self-help, mindfulness, and success related themes and topics became an obsession for me. So, today, it’s only apt that I launch a self-development geared podcast, where I feature content on how we can create more fulfillment and success in our lives. Specifically, the content is focused on doing deep work and accessing our “genius” and creativity. Through the content I share on this podcast, I want to help create connections around a topic that opens us up to learning more about ourselves, identifying and acknowledging our differences as beautiful and unique and important, that ALSO inspires vitality and brilliance. Okay, so let’s get into the word GENIUS. This IS, honestly the word that inspired this podcast and it’s name. What I wanted to explore and sort of get into is , what does it mean really to be a GENIUS? Carl Jung, Nietzche, Leonardo DaVinci, Einstein, Aristotle, to name a few, are who typically come up when we think of the word GENIUS and I agree…these men contributed life changing, world-altering concepts and ideas to humanity. But, I rarely see a woman being called a Genius. Also, there are people doing such brilliant work in the world, they are creating true change in communities, industries, creating movements and shifting mindsets, ...
