Gabriella Degli Esposti, nata a Calcara, è una delle protagoniste della Resistenza nella provincia di Modena. Mantiene i collegamenti tra la città e Castelfranco Emilia, organizza le attività delle donne e si espone pubblicamente. In seguito a una delazione viene arrestata e rinchiusa per tre giorni nell’ammasso canapa di Castelfranco, dove subisce torture e sevizie. Viene fucilata lungo il Panaro, a Cà Nova di San Cesario, il 17 dicembre 1944.
