西洋でルネサンスからバロックへと流行が移る頃、日本は戦国の世から江戸時代へ。まずは京都で本阿弥光悦や俵屋宗達が名を上げ、その約100年後にあの尾形光琳が登場して「琳派」の流れを築き、円山応挙や伊藤若冲がそれに続く！そして江戸時代のセカンドステージは浮世絵！ある進化をきっかけに鈴木春信が先陣を切り、NHK大河でおなじみの蔦屋重三郎が歌麿、写楽をスターダムへ。そして北斎、広重、国芳が有終の美を飾る！これで江戸の絵師たちの大きな流れがつかめます。
