  • Episode 134: A Prayer for Jesus' Disciples
    Dec 17 2025

In this final episode of the year, Brenton and Chris wrap up their conversation around John 17 and what it means to live in the world without becoming like it. They talk about the two common extremes Christians fall into—blending in with culture or separating into a bubble—and why Jesus calls us to something harder. Chris also explains why believers shouldn’t be shocked by opposition, and why Jesus teaches us to respond with joy and faith instead of retaliation. They touch on spiritual warfare and how Satan and our own sin often overlap in the battle we see around us. The episode closes with a hopeful reminder about security in Christ, sanctification as being wholly dedicated to God, and why Christmas matters in the middle of heavy topics.

  • Episode 133: A Prayer for God's Glory
    Dec 10 2025

On this week’s episode of Further, Brenton and Chris kick things off with a quick update on the holiday schedule and a preview of an upcoming All-In mini-series on loving God with our minds. They dive into John 17 and talk about Jesus’ prayer as a kind of “last will and testament,” focusing on God’s glory as His goodness on display and how the Trinity has always been glorifying and celebrating one another. Chris and Brenton wrestle with why God seeking His own glory isn’t selfish, and how that actually ends up being for our good and our joy. They also unpack Jesus’ definition of eternal life as knowing the only true God and Jesus Christ—not just “going to heaven when we die,” but a restored relationship with God that starts now. To close, Chris shares real-life stories from within Harmony of people being transformed “from one degree of glory to another” as they behold God’s goodness in the middle of suffering, repentance, sacrifice, and everyday faithfulness.

  • Episode 132: Indestructible Joy
    Nov 26 2025

On this week’s episode of Further, Brenton Grimm sits down with Clay Baker to talk about what biblical joy really is and how it’s different from simple happiness. They unpack how joy can coexist with sorrow and suffering, looking at passages like Nehemiah, Philippians 4, Habakkuk 3, and John 16 to show that our joy is rooted in Christ’s person, work, and presence, not in our circumstances. Clay shares personally about negative thought patterns, music, and habits, and how filling our minds with gospel truth and good rhythms of prayer, Scripture, and fellowship shapes our experience of joy. They also talk about how God uses our suffering for our good, for the good of others, and for His glory, even when we’re impatient for relief or for Jesus’ return. Finally, they connect Harmony’s “remember, rehearse, respond” framework for corporate worship to everyday life, encouraging listeners to carry those same gospel-centered patterns into their week so that their joy may be full.
