About this listen

Host Brittany Ross is a stand-up comedian & actress, but you may not know she's a 3-time national champion college cheerleader. I mean, you may know by looking at her. Petite blonde named Brittany, what else was she supposed to do? Science?

Growing up, Brittany went absolutely full out on competitive cheerleading: 5 AM practices, national championships, broken bones and concussions, her entire identity wrapped up in a giant sparkly bow on top of her head.

Turns out all those cheerleading skills actually translate to entertainment. Apparently learning to smile while your body is falling apart is all it takes to make it in Hollywood.

Full Out explores the fascinating "before" stories of entertainers, creators, and interesting people: the passions they went absolutely full out on before they stepped into the spotlight. Because apparently being a competitive weirdo about something translates to everything else.

Each episode dives deep into a guest's obsessive pre-entertainment life through stories you've rarely heard before or never heard at all. We discover how the discipline, competition, and sheer insanity of their first passion shaped who they became. How does an ex cult member's end of times trauma help create wildly successful TikTok characters and get you to AGT with the voice of an angel? How does a volleyball player's court awareness translate to reading a room on stage? How does learning to trust someone not to drop you from 15 feet in the air help with literally everything else in life?

This isn't your typical career interview. We dig into the guests' origin stories and explore the often hilarious connections between their obsessive past and their current success.

Whether you're a former athlete, recovering perfectionist, or someone who collected Beanie Babies like your life depended on it, this show celebrates the obsessions that make people great. Because that weird obsession you had? It might actually be what made you great... or it might not, but let's talk about it anyway!
