In dieser Folge geht es um die Vielfalt der Leser und ihre ganz unterschiedlichen Motive, ein Buch zu kaufen – oder es eben nicht zu kaufen. Man kann es nie allen recht machen, und das ist auch völlig in Ordnung. Jeder Leser nimmt sich aus einem Buch, was er braucht. Und als Autor? Der muss nicht ständig auf seine Zielgruppe schielen. Denn auch wir verändern uns – stilistisch, thematisch, persönlich. Mal schreiben wir für diese, mal für jene Leser. Ein Roman entsteht nie im luftleeren Raum, aber er ist immer auch ein Spiegel des Autors zu genau dieser Zeit. Sich selbst treu zu bleiben ist oft der ehrlichere Weg – auch wenn man damit nicht immer alle erreicht.
