This week on “Growing Greater” we begin our new inspiring series we have proudly partnered with Citizens Bank to produce. This series entitled “From the Neighborhood” brings you stories of family-owned businesses that been part of our Greater Philadelphia community for generations. Some individuals spend most of their lives on the sidelines, waiting to be given the chance to succeed in a career. Recently incarcerated individuals known as Returning Citizens represent a huge untapped workforce.
Rich Bevan talked with Matt Cabrey, Executive Director of Select Greater Philadelphia, a council of the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia about how his team at Baker Industries helps place Returning Citizens with the right training, the right job, and ultimately the right career opportunity. Bill Stockwell of Stockwell Elastomerics, a 4th generation-owned business joins the conversation and describes how his company has benefited from their partnership with Baker Industries.
