Episode:

On this episode of Morning Light with Mike Franklin on My Country 99.3 WCON, Pastor Mike delivers a timely and heartfelt message about one of the greatest struggles of the human condition, self-focus.

From the moment we're born, we naturally prioritize our needs, our plans, our desires. But as Mike explains, unchecked self-focus can quietly damage our relationships, blind us to the needs of others, and keep us from living the compassionate life Jesus modeled.

Drawing from Matthew 9:35–38, Mike shows how Jesus was moved with compassion when He looked upon the weary, scattered crowds and how we are called to develop that same heart. He reminds us that:

  • Immaturity clings to "me-first" living

  • Compassion flows only when we lift our eyes off ourselves

  • People around us are burdened, confused, wounded, and running on empty

  • The "harvest" of souls is ready, but time is short

  • Like Peter and John in Acts 3, we must stop, see, and respond

This reflective episode encourages us to slow down, notice hurting people around us, and ask God to help us become laborers in His harvest—demonstrating the compassion of Christ instead of the self-focus of the flesh.

A powerful reminder to start your morning with a heart aligned to Jesus.
