 In this interview I share my personal journey through some of the most difficult moments of my life — my wife Charlene’s stroke, losing $1.5 million during the 2008 financial collapse, and how faith helped us rebuild our lives. We also discuss my four books, including Getting Hosed: Secrets, Confessions and Tales From a Gas Station Owner, and the lessons I learned as an entrepreneur and caregiver. During this difficult season, gospel legend Andraé Crouch and his church were an incredible source of encouragement and support while we navigated the challenges of caregiving and recovery. My hope is that this story encourages anyone who has faced loss, financial hardship, or the unexpected challenges of life.
