Las cintas con las grabaciones de la emisión de Radio Nacional de España, del 20 de noviembre de 1975, llevan 50 años almacenadas en el archivo de RNE, unas cintas que deberían haberse borrado, pero en una escueta nota, un responsable, ordena que no se borren. La grabación tiene una calidad pésima.
En 1975 está vigente la ley de prensa que otorga el monopolio informativo a RNE, ninguna emisora excepto la pública puede emitir noticias. El aparato propagandístico franquista ejerce un férreo control sobre la información. Franco agoniza en la Ciudad sanitaria de la Paz.
