  • 'In the Footsteps of Politics' returns in it's new format. This initial relaunch episode sees Rebecca - Peter's partner - ask the questions as we investigate why the show has been on hiatus so long and what has been happening in the mean time, as well as what the show is going to evolve into.

Taking the broadest view of politics, the show aims to talk to some of the most interesting people about how they got to where they are, their successes and failures.

If they want to talk about their personal politics, they’re absolutely welcome to but, in general, we’re much broader and more interested in what politics and policy can do to help them and others.

We aim to share ideas with people might find interesting.

Peter Newman, your podcast host, has been a teacher, a journalist and a political candidate over the last 20 or so years.

Now an SNP member, there is pretty naturally going to be a Scottish focus to the show but the world is a big place and this is about big ideas with the best people.
