In England, this cultural shift seems to be happening faster than anywhere else. As we surrender to relentless “progress” and the challenges of contemporary life, the poetic essence of our heritage is at risk of being erased. In curating this collection, I have sought to present some of the finest examples of our folklore. For the nursery tales, I took special care to preserve their original form, drawing from the earliest editions available.
