Die Pfalz war für ihn ein Sehnsuchtsort: Er baute sich ein Schloss, die Villa Ludwigshöhe, und gestaltete den Speyerer Dom neu. Wir sprechen mit seinem Nachfahren, Herzog Franz von Bayern, der wie auch viele seiner wittelsbachischen Vorfahren, selbst in der Kunstszene mitmischt.
