About this listen

The Hallmark machine keeps cranking out Christmas cheer — and we’re here to decode it one predictable plot at a time. This week, we revisit our predictions for Christmas on Duty to see if we nailed the tropes, misread the mistletoe, or underestimated Hallmark’s ability to recycle its own storylines.

In true holiday fashion, we forgot something on our list — Hallmark’s A Newport Christmas! This Hallmark title won’t get the full Predictability Scorecard treatment, but we did watch it and we’ll review whether it was smooth sailing or if it had stormy seas….

Then we take flight with Christmas Above the Clouds and buckle up for A Keller Christmas Vacation, two titles that sound full of holiday chaos and emotional baggage (literally). We’ll debate which movie will earn us the highest Predictability Score, which character will learn “the true meaning of Christmas,” and which one will definitely fall in love after a snowball fight.

Hallmark’s holiday formula might be set in stone, but we’re here to see how closely it sticks to the blueprint — and maybe, just maybe, find a new favorite in the process.

Rate, review, and subscribe — or you’ll end up spending your next Christmas vacation stuck in matching pajamas, mediating family drama, and realizing that love was snowed in next door all along.
