  • Christmas Classics vs. their Modern Remakes
    Dec 16 2025

    Send us a text

This week on Films and Fermentation, we’re stuffing your stocking with Christmas Classics vs. Their Remakes and seeing who ends up on the naughty list. We’re pitting the originals like It’s a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, and The Grinch against their shiny, CGI’d, studio-noted descendants. Are the remakes holiday miracles or cinematic lumps of coal wrapped in nostalgia bait? Expect eggnog-fueled rants, hot takes, and more bah-humbugs than a Scrooge reboot. So grab a Christmas beer, cozy up by the TV glow, and let the festive film fight begin!

  • “A Charlie Brown Christmas at 60 & Films and Fermentation at 5: A Very Tipsy Blockhead Anniversary”
    Dec 9 2025

    Send us a text

"Tonight we’re raising a glass to two holiday underdogs: the scrappy little TV special that almost didn’t get made, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and the scrappy little podcast that also probably shouldn’t have, Films and Fermentation. Sixty years ago, Charlie Brown taught us the true meaning of Christmas; five years ago, we taught you the true meaning of “maybe that was one beer too many.” In this episode we’re unwrapping nostalgia, grooving to Vince Guaraldi in our heads, and asking why a cartoon from 1965 still hits us harder than most modern Christmas movies. We’ll talk sad little trees, jazz-fueled existential crises, and which Peanuts character each of us most resembles after three holiday ales. So grab your security blanket, spike your eggnog, and join us as we celebrate 60 years of Charlie Brown, 5 years of this ridiculous show, and at least 1 year too many of pretending we know what we’re talking about.”
