- Pharisees avoided sinners. - Jesus sought out sinners.
- Sinners avoided Pharisees. - sinners sought out Jesus.
- Pharisees made their reputation by avoiding sinners. - Jesus made His rep by associating with sinners.
- Pharisees said; "Become good, and we might accept you!" Jesus said: "Come as you are, and I will help you to become good."
- Pharisees keeping God's law was more important than sinners. Jesus believed keeping God's law was best done by seeking out sinners.
- Pharisees might welcome sinners who confessed to sin. Jesus welcomed sinners into confession and forgiveness!
