About this listen

In the eerie French countryside, Colonel Hapgood has been sending his son, Denis, to visit a distant relatives chateau, where the boy becomes enamored with the enchanting yet unsettling atmosphere. However, when Deniss cousin, M. Vaignon, exhibits strange behavior, Hapgood decides its time to put an end to these visits. Coincidentally, M. Vaignon sends a message requesting silence and a halt to the encounters. Initially heartbroken, Denis soon finds joy in the unexpected arrival of Raoul, an enigmatic older man who once served as a groundskeeper at Vaignons estate. Yet, Hapgood cant shake his unease over Raouls peculiar appearance, and as Deniss health begins to deteriorate, the Colonel grapples with a chilling question is his son in danger from a mere man, or is Raoul a supernatural harbinger of darkness? - Summary by Ben TuckerCopyright History & Horror Collections Political Science Politics & Government Social Sciences
