Rakus, un maschio adulto di Orangutan di Sumatra (Pongo abelii), è stato osservato staccare, masticare e applicare ripetutamente per diversi minuti il succo di foglie della pianta Fibraurea tinctoria, direttamente su una grave ferita che si era procurato vicino all’occhio, vecchia di tre giorni. Poi la ferita veniva coperta con una poltiglia di foglie masticate.
