 Welcome to The Ethics of Research. My name is Aden, and I am a doctoral fellow at the Centre for Ethics. My research focuses on right-wing extremism in Canada. Based on my field research over the past couple of years, I realized that there was a gap regarding conversations that focus on ethical dilemmas faced by researchers while working on contentious issues. To fill that gap, this podcast will include conversations with academics who study topics such as violence, crime, extremism, civil wars, refugee crises and prison systems while researching individuals who are either perpetrators or victims within these structures. The goal is to help early career graduate students think beyond their methods training and prepare ahead regarding ethical issues they might face while researching similar topics.
