About this listen

You have to somehow ameliorate the self-deception and enhance the insight and enhance the connectedness. ~ John Vervaeke

John Vervaeke(@vervaeke_john) is an award-winning Professor of Cognitive Science at the University of Toronto, and the creator of the popular Youtube series ‘Awakening from the Meaning Crisis’. In this conversation we dive into the root, symptoms and possible path out of the meaning crisis. We discuss the symptoms across society that point to a crisis of meaning. We explore the cognitive cultural role of religion, and constructing a narrative order in the Enlightenment age. We explore John’s work on self deception, relevance realisation, and the ecologies of practice that build meaning and wisdom.
