Alcuni si uniscono al gruppo solo per evitare la chiamata al fronte. Altri sperano di arricchirsi. Tutti mostrano una chiara propensione alla violenza.
Il reparto servizi speciali, noto come Banda Carità, lascia Firenze per l’arrivo degli alleati e si dirige verso Padova, dove è stato chiamato a distruggere la Resistenza veneta.
