A distanza di pochi mesi da The Idiot, agli Hansa Studios nel 1977 Iggy Pop crea Lust for life, un album che è un capolavoro del rock, con l’amico David Bowie in veste di produttore: scopriamo quanto lo spirito di Berlino sia ben presente nelle tracce di Lust for life e di The Passenger.
In realtà sono molti i musicisti che hanno cantato la città negli anni Settanta, senza forse esserci mai stati: è il caso di Lou Reed, che nel ’73 ha composto Berlin, e di Jim Morrison che in Alabama song fa un omaggio alla musica di Kurt Weill e Bertold Brecht.
Lucio Dalla invece a Berlino c’è stato: nel 1979 è rimasto così impressionato dal Muro da trarne ispirazione per il brano Futura.
