This episode explores why zero-based budgeting isn’t just about numbers. It’s about building trust in your marriage, breaking unhealthy money habits, and creating a financial legacy for your family.

We talk about the tough conversations couples need to have before deciding on a budget, how honest money management strengthened our relationship, and why teaching your kids about money now can change generations.

This isn’t just about tracking dollars but about healing, teamwork, and vision.

Example Budget Below:

Let’s say you and your spouse bring in $4,000 for the month.

In a zero-based budget, you give EVERY dollar a job until you have $0 left unassigned.

It would look something like this:

Rent/Mortgage: $1,200

Utilities (electric, gas, water, Wi-Fi): $300

Car Payment & Insurance: $450

Groceries: $600

Gas/Transportation: $250

Tithes/Donations: $400

Emergency Fund Savings: $300

Debt Payments (credit card, student loan, etc.): $300

Fun Money (Date Nights, Small Treats): $100

Kids' Activities/Needs: $100

Total Spent/Saved = $4,000
Leftover = $0
