Jessica Smyth, student Midwife at UWE coming to the end of her second year. She balances this with being Mum to two little boys and looks after her mental health by going to the gym. Jess was inspired to become a midwife early in life, in her teens, but felt it required a level of maturity so she took time away from pursuing this and worked in pharmacy and as an HCA and she feels that all of these experiences have given her the multidisciplinary experience and understanding that enhances her role as midwife.
