About this listen

Greetings and welcome to the Journey Begun in Scripture podcast! I am your host, Theodore Jander. To begin this episode, “God With Us,” I share Matthew 1:23, which is the Scripture verse my dad reflects on: Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel, which means, God with us.

Now, sit back and relax as you take this time to dwell in God’s presence as my dad, Dr. Lou Jander, reflects on “God With Us.”

O Come, O Come Immanuel

1 O come, O come, Immanuel, and ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear. Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel shall come to thee, O Israel!

2 O come, thou Rod of Jesse, free thine own from Satan’s tyranny; from depths of hell thy people save, and give them victory o’er the grave. Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel shall come to thee, O Israel!

3 O come, thou Key of David, come, and open wide our heavenly home; make safe the way that leads on high, and close the path to misery. Rejoice! Rejoice! Immanuel shall come to thee, O Israel!
