Sam Rinzel, 2022 first round pick to the Chicago Blackhawks, Hobey Baker nominee and current Defenseman for the Minnesota Gophers joins Drop the Mitts to talk about his season thus far. The Gophers currently sit fourth in the country in the College Hockey rankings and have a huge test this against the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Sam is considered one of the top Defenseman in College Hockey netting 9 goals which is a career high and 16 Assists in 30 games so far.

Sam talks about what it has been like growing up and playing with Gophers Captain Jimmy Snuggerud and what he has meant to their team. He also talks about the insane amount of talent that the Gophers have this season and their chances of bringing home a National Championship.

He also talks about the draft process and what the moment was like when he found out he was going to be going to the Chicago Blackhawks an Original 6 franchise and attending Development Camp with the Blackhawks.
