About this listen

Rosie speaks with former NT Police Sergeant, mental health advocate, and author Paul Milne to talk about trauma, recovery, and the healing power of connection. Paul shares openly about the years he spent policing in remote Indigenous communities, the toll it took on his mental health, and the moment it all came crashing down. He talks candidly about his experience with PTSD, the lack of support after leaving the job, and the stigma that surrounds psychological injury—especially for men in uniform. But this episode is also full of hope. Paul shares the many tools he’s explored in his recovery—journaling, breathwork, yoga, EMDR, surfing, cold water immersion, and more—and how he came to believe that healing is possible, even after hitting rock bottom. Now the Chair of Lived Experience Australia, a Beyond Blue ambassador, and the author of The Urgent Connection, Paul is using his voice to advocate for change and help others feel less alone. ** Content Warning ** Due to the nature of this Podcast and the discussions that I have with Guests, I feel it's important to underline that there may be content within the episodes that have the potential to cause harm.
