About this listen

I got an exciting opportunity when chatting with some friends over at the Vancouver Short Film Festival a couple of weeks ago. They’re about to kick off their festival at the end of the month – January 22nd thru the 24th to be more precise. When the dust settled on our conversation, we found that we’d hatched an idea for a podcast – specifically: Film Festivals in a Pandemic.

In this episode I’m joined by Sasha Duncan from VSFF and three filmmakers who’s films are screening in the festival: Linnea Ritland, Shanyn Maguire and Daniel Jeffery. We chat about how organizers and filmmakers have adapted to film festival life in a pandemic, we talk about the challenges and opportunities that have appeared and we throw darts at the what-does-the-future-look-like board.
