Summary

Legend of the Irish comedy scene Deirdre O'Kane joined us this week - She talked about learning that comedy was a script, not just improvised on stage and how she began writing jokes immediately after that realisation. One of the first women on the scene, Deirdre was doing well, but nearly quit after a particularly bad show - Until a sign from the universe in the form of the iconic Billy Connolly.

She told us how the world of stand up has evolved, what her dream role is and why comedy classics like Intermission are not as easy to make as you might think.

We also learned more about Terry in this episode - Namely, that he's never seen Intermission and that he doesn't know who Billy Connolly is.
