On this episode of American Real, Roger asks Joseph about the backdrop of the purpose and the intention of how his book came to be. “Well, my background is in cultural, social anthropology,” Joseph says. ”And I have a doctorate in divinity, so obviously, my spirituality and my spiritual beliefs are very prominent within this book. But at the same time, I'm very open minded and objective about what other people believe and their influence on modern society. But the purpose of this particular book is just trying to redefine what it is for self-empowerment, what that looks like, and try to assist in finding a communication with everybody's authentic self and bringing that out into the open. And the steps from human to spirit is we all are seeking a connection with sought without, with the divine. What is it that makes us human, and trying to bring that into everyday life.”
