About this listen

UNLV's Nevada Conservatory Theatre Executive Director Norma Saldivar chats with Department of Film Chair and film historian Dr. Heather Addison and NCT's Resident Dramaturg Dr. Allison Gibbes about "The Human Comedy," NCT's world premiere production of William Saroyan's story.

When most live theatre in the world has been indefinitely shuttered, ‘Admit One’ explores the process of producing a world premiere play in the midst of a global pandemic.

Each episode explores the collaborative, creative process from concept to realization as NCT’s team of faculty, students and theatre professionals fight to keep their respective crafts alive, relevant and available.

This week, we discuss the story behind the story of William Saroyan’s 1943 “The Human Comedy,” adapted for the stage by Thomas Babbes and receiving its world premiere production at Nevada Conservatory Theatre.

“Admit One” is produced by Adam Paul, UNLV and Nevada Conservatory Theatre.

Music by Cooper Babbes.
