About this listen

Relationships are disgusting. Sure, there's some beauty here and there, but pain is an inevitability in almost all sincere human relations. As a species, we've thrashed each others' emotional stability. Many of us have struggled valiantly against our innate selfishness and self-loathing, but even the best of us seem destined to eventually have the good will curb stomped out of us. And yet, I can't think of anything I crave more consistently than human interaction. We might hurt people, but we heal people. Come to think of it, we aren't innately good, or even innately evil; we're innately contradictory. That contradiction can be wildly frustrating, and mind-numbingly peaceful. Our interactions will hurt us, and sometimes another, but the vocalization of our past pain can often serve as a gateway to future love. The world is nearly bereft of painless coping mechanisms, and sometimes the best way to cope is to turn off the mind, open the mouth, and allow memories to possess the tongue. Please enjoy our possession.
