About this listen

In this episode, I discuss antinatalism, the philosophical view that procreation is an immoral action or, more generally, a negative thing. The concept of birth negation dates back to ancient Greece and has influenced European philosophy over the centuries. Today, the idea continues to exist and spread. Antinatalism is often viewed as a pessimistic perspective and is widely rejected, particularly by religious groups, because it conflicts with certain religious teachings. Many people also oppose it because it seems unnatural, contradicting the inherent tendency of living organisms to pass on their genes. In this episode, I provide a general overview of antinatalism, its brief history, and some of the arguments for it.
