About this listen

I had the pleasure of speaking with my best friend Nyjerus Liggans, a Research Associate with a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan. Nyjerus’s mission is to inspire children of color to explore careers in STEM, opening doors to opportunities beyond traditional expectations. He believes every child possesses a passion for science, but in Mixed and other minority communities, this enthusiasm is often overshadowed by a stronger emphasis on athletics. He aims to show marginalized children that they can excel both academically and athletically, and that pursuing a passion for STEM can lead to meaningful contributions to society.
