About this listen
In 2016, James Renner's book on the Maura Murray case, True Crime Addict, was published. But that was only the beginning of the story.
Since then, Renner has been the target of obsessive online trolls who worked closely with the family of the missing woman, running their social media and providing them with computers and other support. The harassment boiled over into the real world, when Renner's family was stalked while on vacation in the Outer Banks. At times, Renner was also targeted by Maura's boyfriend, Bill Rausch, who went to great lengths to keep secret his attacks on women.
