About this listen
On this Epilogue episode of 1990 I discuss the previous episode in which I talked about racism in my predominantly Asian elementary school located in Chinatown and what it was like attending that school in Frisco at the time, I shared a story of a young lady named Tenisha Hardy who was murdered in my community and the impact it had on my community as well as stories of my physical abuse by my brother.
This episode, I will answer some of the questions I received regarding that episode and dive a little deeper into the episode.
- Do you think growing up in this environment has impacted you as an adult? If so, how?
- What is your relationship like with your brother now?
- You talked about economics briefly about you having to pay for school lunch versus some of your classmates. What was your families finances or economics?
- How did you stay out of street drama growing up around all these things? The violence? The drugs? Just everything
- How do you feel about black men not protecting black women?
