 A settembre, mentre la Global Sumud Flotilla navigava verso Gaza, sui social circolavano gli estratti di un'inchiesta sotto copertura: video girati con telecamere nascoste durante riunioni e incontri di alcune organizzazioni pro-Palestina e presentati come la prova dei legami tra la flottiglia e Hamas. Il giornalista Sacha Biazzo, autore con Luigi Scarano della newsletter “Debrief - The undercover dispatch”, racconta come ha scoperto che quei video erano stati girati tra il 2017 e il 2019 da una spia israeliana, che nel 2018 si era già infiltrata nella Freedom Flotilla.
