 Ayrton ha solo quattro anni quando riceve in regalo il suo primo kart giocattolo. È l’inizio di una passione che lo porterà a gareggiare fin da adolescente nel circuito di Interlagos a San Paolo del Brasile, sua città natale. Nel giro di pochi anni Ayrton passa dai kart all’automobilismo e, nel 1984, a ventiquattro anni, debutta in Formula Uno: sui circuiti dominati da piloti come Piquet, Lauda e Prost si affaccia un nuovo campione.
