About this listen

Have you ever avoided someone on the bus or train based on your perception of their race, religion, or ability? Have you ever specified someone’s race when it was not necessarily relevant?

These are examples of implicit bias. Tune in this week as Brittany explores how implicit bias affects split-second decisions and how unaware we are of our deeply engrained world views. She discusses studies that involve “shooting” simulations and what those results determined in relation to racial injustice. She even provides some tips to help you become more aware of your own personal biases.

Don’t forget to follow @beescouchpodcast on Instagram and let us know in the comments how you will do your part in becoming more aware. Also, don’t forget to subscribe for weekly episodes!
