Maya, a music teacher, joins high-achieving St Xavier’s school, brimming with ideas. There’s an invasive insect in the region and the townspeople use a powerful tincture to protect themselves from being bitten. Rumours begin to spread about the new teacher, exacerbated by her refusal to use the repellant. As the townspeople attempt to break Maya’s will, she finds an unexpected ally in one of her students.
