About this listen

Benjamin Paz is a renowned coffee producer in the Santa Barbara region of Honduras. Well known throughout the specialty coffee industry for growing the highest-quality coffees at his own farms, Benjamin also processes and exports much of the coffee in his region through the San Vincente Mill, and he has become one of the most influential coffee producers in the industry - winning the Cup of Excellence competition repeatedly in 2022 & 2024. He also works tirelessly to connect roasters to farmers throughout his region, helping establish relationships that have brought Santa Barbara to the forefront of the industry as a place that continually boasts some of the most amazing coffees year after year.

Matt and Benjamin had the chance to sit down and chat during a rare quiet moment at Expo this year - chatting about the state of the industry and coffee trade today, catching up on what Benjamin is facing these days on his own farms, and reflecting on the changes that have occurred over the past few years in coffee. A really fun moment of connection during a busy weekend.

Recorded during the Specialty Coffee Association Expo in Houston, Texas.
