 Primero fue un autoexilio como protesta. Luego, prohibición de la dictadura. Serrat pasó 18 años sin visitar Chile, aunque lo intentó. El episodio más conocido ocurrió en 1988, cuando el catalán quiso participar del cierre de la campaña del “No” a Pinochet, pero se le impidió el ingreso. En el baño de un avión comenzó una verdadera travesía, la de un periodista, un fotógrafo y un mensaje de libertad.
