  • 121: The Secret to Raising Cooperative, Emotionally Resilient Kids
    Feb 6 2026

Psst... Scroll for the link to my book on emotionally intelligent parenting!

What if parenting didn’t have to rely on punishment, guilt, or constant power struggles? Yep. Really.

Today I'm actually the one being interviewed! My friend Amy Nesbitt had me on her podcast, Whole Wellness Mamas, and we unpacked what emotional intelligence parenting really means, and why it’s so different from the old-school approaches many of us were raised with. This is the conversation you get to hear today!

    Amy and I talk about:

    • Why punishing “bad behaviour” is SO outdated, and what actually helps kids become cooperative
    • How honouring children’s emotions builds connection, trust, and resilience
    • What it looks like to model emotional regulation instead of expecting kids to “just calm down”
    • The power of rupture and repair, taking responsibility, apologising, and rebuilding connection
    • Why emotional intelligence parenting takes intention and discipline, but works for so many families
    • How parents can start noticing their own emotional cycles BEFORE reacting
    • Expanding your emotional vocabulary so you can respond, not explode

  • 120: Emotional Intelligence and the Art of Getting Kids to Open Up
    Jan 25 2026

Talking about feelings can be hard, for kids AND parents.

Some kids talk freely, others shut down, and many sit somewhere in between.

If you’ve ever felt unsure how to help your child open up, or worried about what’s going on beneath the surface, this episode is for you.

Silence isn’t defiance — it’s a signal. Kids can shut down when they don’t feel emotionally safe, even when the environment is calm, loving, and well-intentioned.

Today I unpack how emotional intelligence, nervous system awareness, and self-regulation change the way kids experience communication and connection.

You’ll learn why kids decide (unconsciously) whether it’s safe to share, how our tone, presence, and reactions matter more than the “right words,” and how letting go of control actually builds trust. I also share simple phrases, somatic calming strategies, and mindset shifts that create space for openness without pressure, fixing, or compliance.

If you want deeper connection, more trust, and conversations that happen naturally, without forcing, this episode will change the way you think about talking to your kids.

If this way of thinking resonates, my book on Amazon goes deeper into these ideas — emotional intelligence as the foundation for calmer, more connected parenting. Think of it as a companion to this conversation. 📚 Find my book From Chaos To Connection by Stephanie Pinto on Amazon here!

  • 119: When Your Child is The Bully: This Parent Was in Shock.
    Jan 18 2026

This one’s an eye-opener. An 11-year-old boy is suspended from school for bullying. His parent is devastated, confused, and in shock.

They turned to my parenting community online for help and ask a question so many parents would ask in that moment: “Besides taking away electronics, what else can I do?” What followed was a flood of responses.

Some were deeply supportive, insightful, and grounded in emotional intelligence. Others were confronting, punitive, and honestly… alarming.

So today in this episode I unpack that post from my Facebook community, Let’s Raise Emotionally Intelligent Kids, and the huge range of responses it received.

    I talk about:

    • Why punishment feels like the obvious answer, but often misses the mark
    • What bullying behaviour is really telling us about a child
    • How shame-based consequences ALWAYS backfire
    • The big (and hugely important) difference between accountability and punishment
    • What emotionally intelligent parents focus on instead
    • How to support a child who has caused harm without excusing the behaviour

This is not about “letting kids off the hook.” And it’s definitely not about ignoring the impact on the other child.

It’s about teaching responsibility, empathy, and change in a way that actually sticks.

If you’ve ever thought, “What if this was my child?” or “How would I even handle that?” This episode is for you. Enjoy.

I really enjoy Stephanie's easy to understand, conversational style. I like how she shares personal stories from parenting her own 2 kids. Stephanie's practical advice on how to diffuse a meltdown I could really relate to with my youngest.
The latest 2 episodes are especially good, parent burnout, that is a real issue and the latest podcast episode 7 is my favourite so far, "The words you wish you heard as a child". This one moved me deeply, I felt it close to my heart as my Love Language (Gary Chapman) is Words of Affirmation. This episode hit home and definitely brought up emotions, keep them coming my EQ is rising with each episode, thankyou. I cant recommend enough, listening to Emotionally Intelligent Parenting with Stephanie Pinto - your kids will thankyou for it ;-)
