Strahlender und überlegener Sieger im Hauptrennen war Publikumsliebling Eduardo Pedroza: Der Panama-Mann gewann den Großen bwin Sommerpreis mit Andreas Wöhlers 4,7:1-Mitfavorit Russian Souffle vor Vorjahressieger Wonnemond unter dem Dresdner Alexander Pietsch. Pedroza: „Ich habe extra für diesen Ritt an meinem Gewicht gearbeitet, weil ich wusste, was das für ein gutes Pferd ist.“
Im Rahmenprogramm gab es drei tschechische Siege und es glänzte Nachwuchsreiter Leon Wolff, der drei Rennen für sich entscheiden konnte. Der Auftakterfolg von Shoot the Moon war der 50. Karriere-Treffer des 17-Jährigen, der sich damit nun Jockey nennen darf.
